Saturday Night Wine Up is a 2018 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou.  The smooth blend of 55% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot that spent 12 months in 60% new French oak barrels.  A deep garnet-purple colored wine that we decanted for 2 hours.  This wine was a random pull from our cellar and have to say opened up two years too early.   Sources say 2025-2038.  Happy all the same as we throughly enjoyed it! Found it to have tobacco, truffles and blackberry. Full, rich and seductive in the mouth, it has firm, rounded tannins and well balanced.  The finish was long finish and sustained.

Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the oldest in the Medoc, with records dating back to the 13th century. The Eugene Borie family has produced wines from their estate since 1940.  It is now managed by Bruno-Eugène Borie, the youngest son of the family and the third generation of Borie.
