2017 Heringer Tannat

Our wine tasting crew agrees that this Tannat was created as well balanced

tannins and acidity. We found it to have a smokey nose aromas of blackberry, chocolate, vanilla, and leather. This wine had a good long finish.

Rock Wall Wines founders Shauna Rosenbloom and her famous father Kent Rosenbloom used to source their Tannat from Heringer Estates. As Mike Heringer says it is about picking the grapes when they are lignafied (when the vines turn woody and brown). It takes diligence to constantly monitor the vines and be ready to pick at a moment's notice.

The Heringers are paying homage to their Dutch heritage with a windmill. The windmill blades are an "H" for Heringer but not lost on Star Wars fans who see a TIE Fighter. May the Tannat be with you!
