Friday Night Wine Up is in honor of Janet Ilko's Uncle Joe Mirabile who sadly passed away today. He was a Boston Italian and ever part of a great husband, father and patriot. The CIA lapel pin is so that Uncle Joe is near my heart every time I wear it. Tonight is a 2016 Siro Pagenti Brunello di Montalcino (Pelagrilli, Italy).
Very pretty black-cherry & fresh-mushroom character on nose. Med-bodied w/ integrated, polished & chewy tannins. Flavorful finish. Slightly austere at the end, but still very attractive. Decant before serving.
Uncle Joe was one of a kind and always there for you. As an outlaw he took me in as a son. May his memory and legacy always be a blessing to those who knew him. G-d doesn't need to have mercy on his sole as Uncle Joe deserves heaven.
